Thomas McLoughlin of UBS Discusses Government Debt and Bonds

thomas-mclouglin-government-debt-expert Thomas McLoughlin is Head of Municipal Research at UBS which is leading research and strategy efforts within the municipal bond market. He currently serves as a member of the Wealth Management Research Management Committee.

Prior to joining UBS Wealth Management, Tom spent more than 25 years in the public finance field, the most recent stint as CEO of the National Public Finance Guarantee Corporation. Before that, he worked in a number of positions at MBIA Insurance Corp., including head of Global Public Finance and manager of the U.S. Western Region based in San Francisco.

At Legg Mason he served as Vice President and advised local governments throughout the U.S. on the sale of municipal bonds. Tom began his career as a staff member in the New York State Senate and the U.S. Congress Office of Technology Assessment.

He is a former chairman of the California Society of Municipal Analysts, former Governing Board Member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts, and a member of the Society of Municipal Analysts.
