Fundraising with James Kidrick of the Air and Space Museum

San Diego Air & Space Museum building; history of aviation; world war 2 planes; information about airplanes The guest was James Kidrick, the President of the San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park. Mr. Kidrick has held this position since 2006. He was hired to take over the role because the museum had gone into the red by nearly half a million dollars the previous year. Mr. Kidrick has an extensive background in aviation with a 21-year career as a Navy fighter pilot. Logging more than 4,250 accident-free hours of military flight time on Naval aircraft carriers, he is also an FAA-rated commercial, instrument and multi-engine pilot.

During the 20 years following his military career, Mr. Kidrick has served non-profit organizations in leadership roles. In addition to his work for the museum, he is also a part of many associations focusing on fundraising and how organizations can most effectively use donated funds. Mr. Kidrick gives lectures about effective growth strategies for non-profit groups. He also is an advocate for programs in education such as STEM, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and other academic disciplines.
