The San Diego 2012 Election Mayoral Candidate Nathan Fletcher

On Sunday, June 3rd, Richard and Joe interviewed 2012 San Diego mayoral candidate (and Ironman Triathlete) Nathan Fletcher. Mr Fletcher has a long list of public service starting with the armed forces 1n 1997. He is a decorated veteran of US Marine Corps with 10 years of service including tours in Africa and Iraq. Currently, he serves in the California State Assembly representing California’s 75th District which includes Rancho Santa Fe, Fairbanks Ranch, Poway, and parts of Escondido and the City of San Diego.

Some of the issues facing San Diego of concern to Nathan Fletcher are pension reform, jobs, infrastructure, ensuring quality eduation, and budget reform. Mr. Fletcher also has a special interest in supporting local veterans. This excerpt is from his campaign website:

The City of San Diego is home to approximately 82,000 veterans, the second-largest concentration of veterans in the country. Because of the significant role veterans play in our community, we have a stake in finding the most innovative ways to care for them.
