Puns and Twisted Words with Dr. Richard Lederer

Monsters Unchained Book Cover imageBorn and raised in west Philadelphia, Richard Lederer graduated from Haverford College with an English degree. Next, he started studying at Harvard Law School, but quickly changed majors to earn an MA in Teaching from Harvard instead. He realized that much like his college chemistry books, he was more interested in the literary value of case law than its impact on the legal system.

Now residing in San Diego, he is the co-founder and host of A Way With Words on KPBS Public Radio, and has a syndicated column, Lederer on Language, which appears in newspapers and magazines throughout the United States, including the San Diego Union-Tribune. Dr. Lederer has been honored as Toastmasters International’s Golden Gavel winner and International Punster of the Year. He has published more than 40 books, and “Monsters Unchained” is his most recent contribution to American literature.
