Mr. Katz’s reputation as a respected business leader in the San Diego community dates back to his purchase of the local Manpower franchise with partner Phil Blair back in 1977. While the business has grown over the decades, he has also taken on civic duties. Currently, he is Chairman of the Board for the San Diego Public Library Foundation, and has been an outspoken advocate for child literacy through primary grades all the way up to higher education.

Bill Gladstone is a literary agent who founded Waterside Productions, Inc. in 1982. The firm is closely associated with the “For Dummies” book series. However, Mr. Gladstone is also an author, and is looking forward to the launch of his book The Power of Twelve next week. It is a story about a man who embarks on a life-long journey to decipher the meaning behind the Mayan prophecy of December 21, 2012.

The San Diego Central Library will have a free community festival on September 28th between 11am and 6pm. Click here for more information.
