• San Diego Bankers Dan Yates, Steven Sefton and Sean Puckett Join the Show for the Second Part of Our Sunday Double-Header

Regents Bank is the newest sponsor of It’s Your Money, Not Theirs. Dan Yates is a native San Diegan and a graduate of SDSU. He has been in banking for 32 years and co-founded Regents Bank in 2001. Dan has served as Chief Executive Officer and President of Regents Bank since the company’s inception. At the beginning May 2012, Steven Sefton took over the reins as President.

    Photos of Regents Bank President Steve SeftonDan Yates remains chief executive officer of the bank as well as president of Grandpoint Capital Inc., the parent company of Regents Bank. “Steve brings 28 years of Southern California banking experience to Regents,” said Yates. “I first met Steve when I recruited him to Mellon 1st Business Bank back in 1995, and I’ve enjoyed a close professional relationship with him for the past 17 years.”

    From 1995 to 2008, Sefton worked for Mellon 1st Business Bank. In 2002, he was appointed regional vice president, managing a de novo commercial office he opened. From 1991 to 1995, he worked at Sanwa Bank as vice president and team leader.

    Sean Puckett joined Regent’s Bank in November of 2011 as First Vice President. Mr. Puckett is a graduate of the University of San Diego. An article from the San Diego Source quotes Sean Puckett as saying,

    When he was 17 years old, Puckett’s grandfather told him, ‘Sean, when you get to be my age, the only thing that will matter is the relationships you built along the way.'”

    Photo of Prominent Banker Sean PuckettHe got his start in banking with an outside sales position at Union Bank, and was promoted to vice-president at age 29. Later, Mr. Puckett moved to Union Bank for six years before being recruited to Regents Bank. He is extremely involved in local business organizations like STAR San Diego, and he was voted the 21st most influential person under 40 in San Diego.
