The 5th Annual Berry Good Night

This event is brought together by the top minds in local and sustainable food, creating a unique environment for networking, storytelling and celebration. Hosts, William & Michelle Ciccarelli Lerach, will welcome their guests and several of San Diego’s most prominent chefs to a sit down, multi-course meal in their backyard. This year the event is devoted to focusing on what it means to create a fair and just food system.

Segment 1: “The tenets of building a fair food system”

Segment 2: “The Ethical Consumer”
Featured: Trish Watlington, owner of The Red Door Restaurant & Wine Bar and The Wellington Steak & Martini Lounge and tender of The Red Door Family Garden; Noel Stehly, farmer at Stehly Farms Organic and owner of Stehly Farms Market.

Segment 3: “Food & Wine: Staying Sustainable”
Featured: Nicholas Palumbo, passionate Viticulturist and budding Oenologist, believes in producing only what he grows himself. He established the Palumbo Family Vineyard and Winery in 1998 in Temecula; Phil Gregory, winemaker (Vena Cava) and owner of boutique Baja hotel La Villa del Valle and hotel restaurant Corazon de Tierra. Vena Cava is an award-winning Baja wine served at the G20 Summit.

Segment 4: “Next Gen Farmers/The Future of Agriculture”
Featured: Scott Murray, an organic farmer for 40 years, conservation official and educator, and President of Edge of Urban Farms; Kiera Butler, senior editor at Mother Jones and UC Press author of “Raise: What 4-H Teaches Seven Million Kids and How Its Lessons Could Change Food and Farming Forever
